MINI - Origin of an Idea

MINI - Origin of an Idea

For the Forward Festivals 2017 in Vienna, Munich and Zurich, we worked on a unique on-site activation with our friends from MINI International. The result: The Origin Of An Idea – a journey to the origin of the creative thinking process. This process is made tangible in an interactive spatial installation which allows to generate new ideas in a time of rapid change and everyday overkill. In The Origin Of An Idea, the three phases of the idea-finding process – inspiration – reflection – creation – are explored and interpreted in different ways. Three different artists created three individual spaces, representing the dedicated stages of the thinking process. The Berlin collective Pfadfinderei developed the concept for the inspiration room and dealt with the 21st century inspiration overkill of smartphones and social media. Stefan Kainbacher of NEON GOLDEN designed a mirrored room in which LED strips created mystical light effects matching the theme of reflection. London-based video artist Natalia Stuyk created the final stage of the creation with hypnotic visuals and a central hologram transforming a simple geometric shape into a surreal shape.
